I’m Mike, an Event Producer and Organiser. MD of my own small business working with international NGOs, community-led festivals, events, and leadership forums. Hybrid, virtual, in-person and streams. I’m based in Southend-on-Sea, on the south east coast of Essex, UK.
Charity leader, as Chair of YMCA Essex 👀, a youth-focussed NGO and catalyst for change. Areas of interest include environmental sustainability; diversity, equity and inclusion; and youth leadership. Young Trustees Movement Champion.
I’ve spent the past 10 years supporting the organisation of Leigh Folk Festival, the UK’s largest free folk festival, and organised YMCA175, the global celebration and youth leadership-driven forum for YMCA’s 175th anniversary (picking up a Conference News’ 30 under 30 Award).
Once upon a time I was the BBC's youngest radio presenter, lockdown got me running (in a distant memory I once ran the London Marathon), and in ‘normal times’ I commentate roller derby 🛼🎤, blood donor, during Covid-19 organised a virtual music festival.
Part of Concrete Culture and it's #KursaalComeback Campaign. Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals, youth-led solutions, elevating young leader stories and making space at the table for young voices to be listened to.
Occasional speaker on issues of youth leadership, community engagement, pioneering movements and being a disruptive voice.
