Y CARE
INTERNATIONAL:
TERRY WAITE CBE FUNDRAISER
Full event management services
Global aid and development charity Y Care International wanted to host a special celebration to mark the 80th birthday of its President and co-founder Terry Waite CBE, at Lambeth Palace, where he had been the Archbishop's special envoy prior to his capture in Lebanon, in 1987.
Alongside the celebration, the event would provide an opportunity for the organisation to ignite its new 2030 strategy, cultivate new relationships, recruit potential future donors, and raise funds for its work with young women and men to supports its aim to provide 1 million opportunities for decent work by 2030.
Y Care International commissioned full event management services in the two months leading up to the event, including guestlist management, messaging development, print collateral, venue liaison, catering, VIP coordination as well as generating lots for a silent auction.
The event would see the charities founders reunited for the first time since 1992 (the last time being at a similar reception at Lambeth Palace shortly after Terry's release) alongside its CEO, Chair, and special guest speakers from YMCA East Jeruselum.
The result saw more than £10,000 raised, a host of new relationships with potential major donors, partners, trusts and foundations, marking a new era to drive forward Y Care International's critically important and ambitious work.
